Torry Harris Collaborates with Leading Universities on SOA and Agile

Torry Harris Business Solutions today announced collaborations with leading Universities in the USA, Europe & Canada, giving a new thrust to business R&D through collaborative research, business support and consultancy. Specific areas of collaboration include Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Agile Development methodologies.

“These collaborations further emphasize our firm commitment to SOA & Agile. We would be working on latest research and cutting-edge technology to come up with innovative solutions that address some of the challenges faced by enterprises today. These are exciting times!” says Shuba Sridhar, Regional Manager (Technical Services) at Torry Harris Business Solutions.

Dr Duncan Russell, Senior Research Fellow, at the University of Leeds, says, “We are indeed very excited at the prospect of working with Torry Harris. Our primary areas of interest are SOA, web services, grid middleware and the use of Agile for building resilient systems”

The Torry Harris SOA Centre of Excellence is today involved in implementations spanning Federated SOA using Agile development methodologies, in the sectors of Telecom, Banking & Insurance, Healthcare and Manufacturing. A firm supporter of ‘Open Source Software’, Torry Harris supports the use of enterprise class Open Source Software in a federated SOA implementation, enabling cost efficiency and flexibility.

University-Industry collaborations are known to bring efficiencies through process innovations & productivity, by transfer of knowledge & sharing of expertise, A number of studies on such collaboration have indicated innovation of new methods & frameworks among other benefits.

In the coming months, Torry Harris plans to extend this collaboration to focus on areas like consulting, conducting seminars & conferences, recruiting students & assisting & funding of academicians
